Choosing a Math Curriculum
For Kindergarten and First grade, the curriculum we used had Math “built in”. This year I actually have to choose a curriculum. I have been looking at several different ones and they all look so good – how do I choose? I usually ask my other homeschooling friends what they recommend and go from there. My friend Barb told me yesterday that they use Math-U-See and that thy really liked it. I even talked to her son and he said it was great and that he thought the (DVD) teacher was funny. I can see William really enjoying something like that.
So I am really leaning towards Math-U-See.
I have a good friend who loves MathUSee. It got her daughter who hated and dreaded math to like it again. I have no experience with it though. We used Calvert math for three years, this year we are using Oak Meadow math. Calvert was great though. I am considering switching back after we’re done with the OM math. I haven’t decided yet. I already bought OM5 math so may just use that since I already have it and the re-evaluate things at that point about a year from now. Good luck!
