Plans are being made and right now it looks as if we will be starting school this year the first week in July – more specifically Monday, June 30th. The boys have already been out of school for almost 2 months and since the new curriculum arrived they have been asking daily “when are we going to have school?” So, June 30th it is.

They would be glad to start tomorrow but I am finding the jump from 1st grade to 2nd grade requires a lot more planning. At one time (before I actually started homeschooling), I thought I would be putting together my own curriculum but after two years of using My Father’s World, I know I will be sticking with it for now. I like knowing that someone has put it all together and that I am not forgetting anything – greater still I love the content: a great combination of structured daily plans with a unit study feel.

Today I spent about an hour in the homeschool office (at our church) making copies that I will need for the first two weeks of school as well as copying work samples and turning in the last semesters reports for both boys. I feel much more prepared than I did but I still have quite a long “to do” list before I am completely ready. The truth is, this type of planning is my cup of tea! I love it.

This weekend Dick’s mom is driving in from Atlanta for the weekend so my presence here might be limited. Have a great weekend!

I keep think of doing the same, so you’re an inspiration. Our new curriculum arrived a couple weeks ago and we’re chomping at the bit to use it but June is nuts so maybe July.

I’m going to order the pre school package for Gabriel from MFW. I hear their Kindergarten is very fun too. =)

I just started my first year with MFW, and I love it for exactly the same reasons! I’ve tried many things and finally found *it*. :)

    Good morning Becky ~
I found your blog through the Training Hearts Adventures Blogroll. I read your infertility story and got chills and it was very similar to mine. In a nutshell – we were married 6 years, wanted children very badly, and it was only when we gave it completely up to the Lord that we had them. Our sons Matthew and Zachary are 14 months apart. :-) God is good.
    God bless ~
